Why asking for help can be so hard
Reaching out can feel like one of the hardest steps. Not always because you don’t want help — but because it’s difficult to know when to ask for it, or how to explain what you’re going through. You might worry about being misunderstood, or about saying it “wrong.” You don’t need to have the right words. Sometimes starting small — “I’ve been struggling lately” or “I’m not feeling like myself” — is enough to open the conversation. Not everyone will respond in the way you hope. That doesn’t mean your experience isn’t valid. You’re allowed to take this at your own pace, and to guide people in how to support you. You don’t have to go through this alone.
